Product Designer
EaziHealth is a digital health solution designed to enhance the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products in the African market. The platform provides real-time regulator-approved information about medicines and pharmaceutical products, enabling consumers to make informed purchasing decisions. Through features like product authentication, price comparison, and pharmacy location services, EaziHealth aims to reduce counterfeit and substandard medication while improving accessibility to verified pharmaceutical products.
As the Product designer for EaziHealth, my role was to create an intuitive, visually appealing, and functional interface that aligns with the app’s purpose. My key contributions include: Landing Page Design, Onboarding Process, Search Interface, History & Favorites, QR Code Scanner UI, Profile & Settings, Footer & Navigation.
The African pharmaceutical market faces significant challenges with counterfeit drugs, limited access to verified medical products, and a lack of reliable medication pricing information. Consumers often struggle to find safe and effective medicines from trusted sources.
EaziHealth addresses these challenges by offering: Real-Time Search & Price Comparison: Users can search for medicines and instantly view pricing and availability across registered pharmacies. QR Code Authentication: Scanning a product’s QR code verifies its authenticity and provides detailed drug history. User-Friendly Navigation: A streamlined interface ensures a seamless experience for users, whether they are searching for drugs, scanning barcodes, or managing their favorites. Educational Resources: Access to health articles, medication guides, and regulatory updates to inform users about safe pharmaceutical practices.
When we set out to design EaziHealth, we knew that access to safe, affordable, and authentic pharmaceutical products was a growing concern for many Nigerians. Counterfeit medications flood the market, trusted pharmacies are difficult to locate, and price discrepancies leave consumers feeling uncertain about whether they are getting the best deal. To truly understand the depth of these challenges, we engaged directly with potential users through interviews and surveys, listening to their frustrations and needs. One of the most common concerns was drug authenticity. Many users had experienced counterfeit medications firsthand or knew someone who had suffered due to fake drugs. This insight led to the introduction of a QR code scanner, allowing users to verify the authenticity of their medications instantly. Another major challenge was finding trusted pharmacies that stocked the right medications at fair prices. Many users expressed frustration at traveling long distances only to find that their needed drugs were unavailable or overpriced. To solve this, we collaborated with five major pharmacy chains—Jendol, MedPlus, HealthPlus, Alpha Pharmacy, and Mopeth—all of which have multiple branches across Lagos. These partnerships gave us real-time access to their price databases, enabling users to compare prices across different locations before making a purchase. We also discovered that price transparency was a big issue. Many consumers had no idea what the standard price of a drug should be, leading to potential overpayment. By integrating live pricing from our pharmacy partners, we ensured that users could instantly see the cost of a medication at multiple locations, empowering them to make informed purchasing decisions. As we continued our research, we realized that many users repeatedly purchased the same medications, whether for chronic conditions or regular health supplements. To improve convenience, we designed a Favorites section where users could save frequently purchased drugs, as well as a History page to track past searches and scanned medications.By the end of our research, it was clear that EaziHealth needed to be more than just a search engine for medications—it had to be a comprehensive tool that empowered users with information, ensured drug safety, and simplified the entire pharmaceutical shopping experience. Through thoughtful design and real-world partnerships, we built a platform that directly addresses the challenges Nigerian consumers face when searching for safe and affordable medication.
Many users struggle to verify the authenticity of the drugs they buy, increasing the risk of consuming fake or substandard medications.
Consumers often waste time visiting multiple pharmacies, unsure of which ones stock their needed medications.
Many people don’t know the standard price of drugs, leading to potential overpayment or price exploitation
Users want a quick way to find specific drugs without manually calling or visiting multiple locations.
Many users buy the same medications repeatedly but don’t have a way to quickly reorder them.
After finalizing the paper wireframes, we transitioned into digital wireframing to create a more structured and refined layout of the EaziHealth app. Using the Figma tool, we transformed rough sketches into low-fidelity digital wireframes, ensuring a clear user flow and intuitive navigation before high-fidelity prototyping.
The digital wireframes focused on functionality and usability, maintaining a clean and structured layout while ensuring easy access to key features like:
The EaziHealth landing page is designed to provide a clear and engaging introduction to the app, showcasing its core features and value proposition. It serves as the first touchpoint for potential users, guiding them seamlessly toward downloading the app and exploring its benefits.
The EaziHealth app is an ongoing project, currently in the design and development phase. While the foundational wireframes and UI design have been established, further refinements and user testing are still in progress to ensure a seamless and user-friendly experience.
As part of the iterative design process, we are continuously incorporating user feedback, pharmacy data integration, and enhanced security measures to improve the app’s functionality. The next steps include:
This project is evolving as we work closely with industry experts, pharmacy partners, and end-users to deliver an impactful solution that improves access to safe and affordable medications.
